A downloadable game for Windows

"Roll up, roll up, see the amazing Tyrannosaurus Rex, King of the Dinosaurs, in his lair. Perfectly preserved in silicon since ancient times, he is brought to you for your entertainment and exhilaration. If you dare to enter his lair, you do so at your own risk."

Based on the 1982 Sinclair ZX81 classic, "3D Monster Maze", conceptualised by J.K. Greye and programmed by Malcolm Evans, GB Monster Maze is an interpretation of what I believe the game would look like, had it been adapted and released for the Nintendo Game Boy.

There are two gameplay modes: Modern and Classic, the latter of which is more or less a direct port of the original. The former, however, has been achieved through the magical power of raycasting, the same method that birthed classics such as Wolfenstein 3D.

Controls:

The controls have been translated from the Game Boy as shown below, and do as expected. A basic rundown of the in-game controls can be found on the main menu, although they are fairly self explanatory.

If the default olive-green colour palette is unpleasant to the eyes, there are alternate palettes that can be accessed by using the arrow keys on the startup screen.

What a fantastic idea! I now and then still play Monster Maze 3D (emulated) and find it one of the most thrilling experiences. That darn dinosaur still gets me screaming now and then. ;) Your adaption for the gameboy is very welcome so I can also play this game on my pocket devices. Thank you so much for making it, I'll try it this evening. :)

edit: Ah only know I do understand that it isn't a game for the gameboy, but an idea how it could have looked...
